AgTIgrow, the crop input specialist formed by former FMC executive Simon McMunn, has secured a partnership agreement with the Chinese company Rainbow Agro to bring their portfolio of advanced crop protection products to the UK.
Simon: “Having visited crop protection factories around the world for more than 30 years, I was truly impressed by Rainbow’s facilities in China. It’s a technology-driven company that strives for excellence at every stage. This visit confirmed that our partnership is the right move to bring top-quality, new alternatives to our agricultural communities in the UK and Ireland.”
A global leader with engineering at its core
Founded in 2000 by six chemical engineers, Rainbow Agro has evolved into a fully integrated crop protection enterprise, spanning from active ingredient synthesis to technical support in the field. Operating in more than 100 countries, the company combines advanced manufacturing technologies with a deep understanding of agriculture, designing business models suited to the specific needs of each market.
At the core of Rainbow’s differentiation lies its in-house synthesis capability. Managing more than 300 active ingredients, the company focuses its own production on those where it delivers clear advantages in safety, quality, and cost efficiency. This strong technical foundation ensures products that consistently meet and exceed international standards.
Comprehensive portfolio and proven quality
Rainbow’s global portfolio includes over 5,000 formulations, 8,500 registrations, and 330 patents, addressing every stage of crop protection and a wide range of agricultural challenges.
With 10 world-class manufacturing sites strategically located worldwide, Rainbow guarantees efficient production, reliable logistics, and consistent quality, meeting the expectations of growers and industry partners alike.
Its two R&D Centers, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and internationally accredited, Rainbow develops both new active ingredients and innovative single or combination formulations. Alongside these, the Process Development Center enhances agility by replicating processes at small scale, enabling optimisation and faster scale-up to industrial production.
Rainbow's global team of more than 200 Regulatory Science and Affairs specialists ensures timely dossier generation and submission in full compliance with local regulations across all markets.
“Entering the UK and Ireland markets is an exciting milestone for Rainbow,” said Regina Gnatek, Rainbow Europe Regional Sub-Area Head. “Our mission is to make crop protection smarter, faster, and more accessible — providing British growers with solutions they can trust, backed by the combined expertise of Rainbow and AgTIgrow.”
