Farmers across North Wales are invited to register for a practical, on‑farm technology event on 25 February at Derwydd, Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Corwen (LL21 9UP).
This event, put on by Mentera, on behalf of Ambition North Wales, will showcase how smart sensors, data dashboards and LoRaWAN connectivity can support more efficient, productive, and sustainable farming. It will give farmers the chance to see real examples of digital technology being used on local farms.
The event forms part of a wider programme involving 16 participating farms across the region, where soil, water, climate, livestock and infrastructure sensors have been deployed to help farmers monitor conditions, manage resources, and make evidence‑based decisions. Demonstrations on the day will include a selection of LoRaWAN sensors alongside live dashboards showing real‑time readings from the Derwydd trial site.
Attendees will also be able to speak directly with technology providers and experts, as well as view the on‑farm LoRaWAN gateways and sensors deployed across the farm.
Talks from David Evershed, Wallog Farm, Ambition North Wales and UKIOT, will outline how technologies can be integrated into everyday farm operations and how the programme is supporting future opportunities for digital adoption within the region.
Target audience
The event is aimed at dairy, red meat, poultry and horticulture farms, as well as young entrants and progressive farmers interested in adopting digital tools. Local vets, advisers, consultants and supply‑chain representatives are also welcome.
