The most outstanding farm retailers from across the UK have been named as winners of the Farm Retail Awards 2026, sponsored by Fieldfare.
Organised by the Farm Retail Association (FRA), which has around 300 members nationwide, the Farm Retail Awards celebrate excellence across this thriving sector. The annual awards shine the spotlight on hard-working and innovative farm retailers at the top of the game, who go the extra mile to champion quality British produce.
The Farm Retail Awards celebrate the best farm shops, cafés, restaurants, butcheries, farmers markets, pick your own operators and trade suppliers across the industry.
Food and drink broadcaster and champion, Nigel Barden hosted this year’s awards at the Cedar Court Hotel Harrogate last night (Wednesday 11 March), as part of the annual FRA Conference. The FRA was formed 46 years ago to support the industry, providing its members with training, workshops, open days and opportunities to connect, share ideas and learn from one another.
FRA Chair Ben Loughrey said: “The Farm Retail Awards celebrate the passion, innovation and sheer hard work that define our sector, and are the perfect way to mark the opening of our annual Conference and Trade Exhibition, today. Our winners are prime examples of how farm retailers can successfully build strong community connections and memorable customer experiences. We are immensely proud of all of our finalists and winners - they represent the very best of farm retail and reflect the strength, resilience and vibrancy of our industry.”
Nigel Barden, host of the Farm Retail Awards said: “Farm retail is an exciting and fast-moving sector of the economy, which makes presenting these awards so rewarding. Each year, the advances made by farm retail businesses astound me, and 2026 exemplifies this. The finalists demonstrate why farm retail businesses are adored by customers, offering excellent service, produce, knowledge and flair, ensuring people return time and time again.”
The award ceremony is part of the annual FRA Conference which concludes today (Thursday 12 March) and involves farm shop tours, an AGM and topical workshops. Guest speakers include renowned cook and food systems campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, international prize-winning economist Professor Tim Leuing, and Jo Mounce from award-winning farm retailer Strawberry Fields Farm Shop, Devon.
