Agricultural steel‑framed building specialist Fowler and Gilbert is celebrating its 15th anniversary after being awarded a King’s Award for Promoting Opportunity, alongside being shortlisted for Shropshire Chamber Company of the Year.
Serving farming and rural enterprises across the UK, Fowler and Gilbert has built a reputation for delivering robust, purpose‑led agricultural buildings while investing heavily in people and skills within the sector.
The King’s Award recognises the company’s efforts to open pathways into engineering and construction from all backgrounds, supported by long‑running apprenticeship programmes, hands‑on training and progression opportunities suited to rural and agricultural settings.
Managing Director and Farmer, Lee Gilbert said:
“Agriculture relies on strong, practical engineering — but it also relies on people. This award recognises our commitment to building skills and opportunity alongside the facilities that support modern farming.”
The recognition comes at a time when the agricultural industry continues to face skills shortages, highlighting the importance of businesses that invest in training, local employment and long‑term capability.
As it looks ahead, Fowler and Gilbert remains focused on supporting the agricultural sector through high‑quality building solutions and a growing, skilled workforce.
