Young farmers and industry voices are being brought together this spring for a brand-new discussion event designed to celebrate the future of British agriculture.
The ‘Proud to Farm’ AGRI Forum, hosted by YFC AGRI, will take place on 26 April at the Elephant & Castle Hotel in Newtown, Montgomeryshire, running from 2–3pm following the Annual Meeting of Clubs.
Open to all YFC members and supporters, the forum aims to explore what it means to take pride in being part of the food and farming sector, while tackling the key challenges and opportunities facing the next generation.
Chaired by YFC AGRI Chair Nathan Greenwood alongside Vice Chair Jess Radnor, the session will feature a panel of respected voices from across the industry, including Abi Reader, NFU Cymru President; Jill Hewitt, CEO of the National Association of Agricultural Contractors (NAAC); and Sandy Kapila, RABI Head of External Affairs.
Together, they will share insights into the evolving landscape of UK agriculture, encouraging open discussion around the responsibilities, pressures and possibilities facing young farmers today.
Key topics set to be explored include future farming opportunities, the importance of taking pride in individual roles within the industry, and maintaining high production standards alongside strong animal welfare. The forum will also highlight sustainability and farm safety, offering practical perspectives on building resilient and forward-thinking farm businesses.
The event is particularly aimed at young farmers preparing to step into leadership roles, as well as those keen to better understand the direction of UK agriculture. It also offers a valuable opportunity for anyone passionate about wellbeing, sustainability and industry standards to engage in meaningful conversation.
Organisers say the forum is not only about learning from leading voices, but also about creating a space for connection, discussion and shared pride in the vital role farmers play in society.
